The engineering field is multi-cultural

Cultural diversity is real for ALTEN Group, the company being a true hub for talents and various skills. The internal mobility, international growth of the Group and the quality of the recruitment process have fed this diversity. In Romania, the labor force consists of 5 nationalities.
ALTEN is committed to demonstrate for young women engineering talents that a career in engineering is not just for men. This commitment is highlighted in every step of the HR policies, from recruitment, employee onboarding and loyalty. ALTEN encourages students and fresh graduates, regardless of gender, to pursue an engineering career and for this purpose it organizes internships, university events and experience exchange programs.
Internally, ALTEN promotes gender equality and hopes to build loyalty among female employees. In 2017, the Board of Directors of ALTEN Si-Techno was represented by women at a rate of 60%.
We regularly organize formal learning events for all the employees and we support their training, without any gender barriers.
The percentage of women in the company was never below 30% in recent years:

Experience and learning

The average age within ALTEN Si-Techno is 28 years old, the expertise of our more experienced engineers has helped capitalize key knowledges and skills. The company also ensures that the expertise is passed on to young graduates and interns, these internships are more common in support functions, as they are more suited to this type of contract. Every young person is supervised by an internal mentor who is responsible for helping the new employee to accommodate and, at the same time, for monitoring their performance. The tutor transfers his/her knowledge to the student, ensuring that he/she gradually acquires new skills, consistent with his/her future career.
At the end of this type of collaboration, a successful internship can lead to a permanent contract: for ALTEN, student integration is an opportunity for the Group to prepare employees for the company's activities and to identify future high-potential employees.
In 2017, ALTEN Si-Techno ran 3 internships, preparing 8 interns from which 4 employees were employed.
